17/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 16 July, Regional Policy Commissioner Pawel Samecki confirmed that the Commission planned to grant Romania €11.78 million further to the flooding that hit the country last summer. This amount will be paid by the EU Solidarity Fund as the Union's contribution to costs that Romanian public authorities must pay in response to an emergency situation, and more especially for rehabilitating key infrastructure.
