17/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 16 July 2009, the European Commission confirmed that it has received details from Lufthansa of amendments to its planned buy-up of Austrian Airlines. Lufthansa is hoping to get a reply by the end of this month but a spokesperson for the EU Competition Commissioner told reporters on Friday that it is too early to say whether the suggested change would be sufficient to enable the Commission to grant authorisation in the next fortnight.
