EESC calls on member states to sign and ratify international conventions on child protection

Brussels, 16/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) adopted (by 157 votes for, 2 against, with 4 abstentions) the own initiative opinion of Madi Sharma on the protection of children from travelling sex offenders (EUROPE 9942). This initiative aims to curb child sexual abuse perpetrated by travelling sex offenders.
