Forthcoming Swedish EU Presidency does not intend to intervene in “bilateral” border dispute between Zagreb and Ljubljana

Brussels, 22/06/2009 (Agence Europe) - The upcoming Swedish EU Presidency, which is to take over from the Czech Presidency on 1 July, does not intend to launch any new initiatives aimed at resolving the border dispute between Croatia and Slovenia, which has been blocking Croatia's membership talks since December 2008. “This is a bilateral problem which has to be resolved by the two countries concerned”, said Carl Bildt, Sweden's Foreign Minister and next President of the EU Council,...
