Brussels, 14/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner has welcomed the decision of the Moldovan Central Electoral Commission which, on Sunday 12 April, ordered votes in the legislative elections of 5 April to be recounted. The Communist Party won the election but the results were challenged by the opposition in the streets of Chiºinau last week (see EUROPE 9879). The recount will take place on Wednesday 15 April.
