07/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 6 April, Justice and Home Affairs ministers definitively adopted the Council's draft decision to replace the 1995 convention on setting up a European Police Office (Europol). Europol was considered the prototype for a European police force and on 1 January will become a Community agency with additional prerogatives on cross-border crime (EUROPE 9646). The Council also adopted a decision adjusting salaries and benefits awarded to Europol personnel....
