Parliament recommends series of essential reforms to bring Belarus closer to EU

Brussels, 02/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament remains concerned by the human rights situation in Belarus, but still supports the recent Council decision to extend the suspension of EU sanctions (visa ban) against the country's main leaders for nine more months (see EUROPE 9862).
