01/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - The Commissioner for Science and Research Janez Potoènik and several representatives from European industry (Volkswagen AG, Bouygues, Siemens AG, Danfoss, Mondragon, SAP, Mieres Acciona, ECTP, ERTRAC and EpoSS) and the car, construction sector made a common declaration on Wednesday 1 April. In the statement, they reaffirmed their intention to move ahead in the implementation of the research Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) for the "Factories of the Future", "Energy-efficient Buildings" and "Green Cars" initiatives included in the European Economic Recovery Plan adopted in December 2008 by the European Council. The first calls for tender will be launched at the end of July (EUROPE 9872).
