Commission remains fully committed in accession negotiations and wants new chapters opened, Barroso says

Brussels, 26/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - José Manuel Barroso, on Thursday, repeated his Commission's “full commitment” to “constructive” accession negotiations with Turkey. The aim was to open at least two new chapters in talks before the end of the Czech Presidency, he said at a press conference after a meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gül in Brussels on 26 March. The Commission president argued for the swift opening of the energy chapter (currently being blocked by Cyprus)...
