26/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 25 March, the European Commission granted clearance to the proposed acquisition of sole control of MPE Energia S.p.A. of Italy by EON AG of Germany, through its subsidiary EON Italia S.p.A. of Italy by the purchase of shares. EON AG is active in the gas and electricity sectors in Europe. MPE Energia supplies electricity in Italy. (O.L./transl.rt)
