€38 billion paid to member states to sustain economy in 2008

Brussels, 04/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - Regional Policy Commissioner Danuta Hübner announced in Brussels on Wednesday 4 February that, in 2008, €38.3 billion had been paid to member states through the Structural Funds and Cohesion Fund. Of this amount €26.8 billion was for projects and programmes from the 200-2006 period and €11.5 billion was for 2007-2013.
