04/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - The new Icelandic prime minister, Social Democrat Johanna Sigurdardottir, said on 3 February that Iceland's membership of the EU and, at a later date, to the eurozone seemed to her to be the best solution for bringing the country out of the economic crisis. “In my opinion, the best choice is to join the European Union and to adopt the euro”, she told the press.
