04/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - In order to benefit from EU funding, European political parties must introduce a request with the European Parliament each year. It is in this way that the Parliament's Bureau shared out, on 2 February, an overall amount of €10.7 million for the year 2009. As mentioned in our article yesterday (EUROPE 9832), “Libertas” will receive €202,823. The 2009 allocations for the nine other European parties recognised as such to date are: - European People's Party (EPP): €3,485,708; - Party of European Socialists (PES): €3,100,000; - European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party (ELDR): €1,179,191; - European Green Party: €643,562; - Party of the European Left (PGE): €562,405; - European Democratic Party (EDP): €492,487; - Alliance for a Europe of Nations (AEN): €577,150; - European Free Alliance (EFA): €226,600; - and Alliance for a Europe of Democracies (EUD): €245,274.
