€4 million to support June's electoral process

Brussels, 28/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission and Lebanon signed a memorandum of understanding in Beirut on 21 January, setting the conditions for the financial and technical support the EU will provide for the legislative elections of June 2009. The document, signed by the Commission delegation in Beirut and the Lebanese home affairs minister provides for €4 million in financial support for preparations for the elections.
