04/12/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 1 December, the Council of Ministers of the EU adopted without debate, the directive on Community railway safety (by approving European Parliament amendments in second reading, EUROPE 9701). Member States will have two years after entry into force of the directive to comply with these provisions. The Council also adopted a regulation setting up a European Railway Agency. (L.C./trans/rh)
