21/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - The French EU Presidency will go out on a high note. To celebrate the end of its six months at the head of the EU Presidency, it will be organising a closing concert to celebrate Europe, on 16 December at the Palais de la musique in Strasbourg. Conducted by MEP Claire Gibault (ALDE, France), who instigated the project, the Slovakian philharmonic orchestra will interpret several works by the French composer, Hector Berlioz. The concert will bring together 200 choir children from several EU countries (Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Great Britain, Italy and Poland) as well as the Italian singer, Anna Caterina Antonacci, and French violist Arnaud Thorette. The concert will not be open to the public but will be broadcast direct on the music channel, Mezzo, and in 39 countries as well as on France Inter (the following Sunday evening) and several European radio stations.
