Brussels, 10/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - Meeting in Council on Monday under the chairmanship of Bernard Kouchner, the foreign affairs ministers pleaded in favour of a "renewed commitment" of the European Union to help to transform Iraq into a state observing the rule of law and respecting human rights and democratic principles. To this end, the Council has decided to extend the integrated "Rule of Law" mission for Iraq (EUJUST LEX) from June 2009 onwards. This will allow the mission to carry...
