Council to decide next year on European Capitals of Culture 2012

Brussels, 07/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - The selection panel appointed to assess applications for the European Capitals of Culture in 2012 met in Brussels on 5 November 2008. The two candidate cities (Guimaraes in Portugal and Maribor in Slovenia) presented their plans for 2012. In April 2008, the first meeting of the selection panel was held where the two cities put forward their initial plans and were asked for further details.
