Ireland's Eirgrid studies feasibility of electrical links between France and Ireland

Brussels, 07/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - The Irish Examiner reported on 6 November 2008 that the Irish public transmission system operator Eirgrid is looking into the technical, operational and economic feasibility of an electrical connection between France and Ireland via cables under the sea which would have to be at least 500 km long, as an alternative to linking up with the United Kingdom.
