Brussels, 15/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission revealed on, 15 October that it had imposed fines totalling over €60 million on a number of banana importers. Chiquita, Dole and Weichert, the Commission says, participated in a cartel between 2000 and 2002 and coordinated the setting of their quotation prices for bananas in eight EU member states.
