Acquisition of sole control over Metro-Group by Haniel and Gesellschaftgerstamm Schmidt-Ruthenbeck approved

Brussels, 09/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 9 October, the concentration in which Franz-Haniel & Cie GmbH (Germany) and Gesellschaftgerstamm Schmidt-Ruthenbeck (Germany) intend to obtain sole control over the German retailer Metro Group by Haniel also of Germany.

Haniel is active worldwide in a variety of industries, in particular trading raw materials for the steel industry, the production of construction materials and the wholesale of pharmaceutical products, textile and washroom...
