The European Parliament, on Thursday 9 October, adopted the own initiative report by Alejandro Cercas (PES, Spain) on the implementation of social legislation relating to road transport, thereby repeating its support for full inclusion of self-employed drivers within the scope of directive 2002/15/EC (on the organisation of working time of persons performing mobile road transport activities). In addition, the EP expressed concern at the shortcomings and delays in the transposition and implementation of directive 2002/15/EC in some member states.
