EP wants to step up data protection in context of police and judicial cooperation

Brussels, 23/09/2008 (Agence Europe) - A very large majority of the European Parliament (EP) approved on Tuesday 23 September by 600 votes to 21 and 39 abstentions the consultation report by Martine Roure (PES, France) on the framework decision relating to the protection of personal data dealt with in the context of police and legal cooperation in criminal matters (third pillar).
