Study shows that auction of all emission quotas from electricity production in 2013 will not provoke price hike

Brussels, 22/09/2008 (Agence Europe) - According to a study commissioned by the WWF, the auctioning off of all emission allowances from electricity production in 2013, as proposed by the European Commission as part of the revision of the European Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), will not provoke a hike in electricity prices, as feared by some people. The WWF explains that this is because the allocation method in itself will not have an impact on prices.
