Košice in Slovakia to be European capital in 2013

Brussels, 10/09/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 10 September in Bratislava, the jury in charge of assessing the candidate cities for “European capital of culture 2013” recommended that the title go to the city of Košice in Slovakia. Four cities were in the running: Košice, Presov, Martin and Nitra. This will be the first time ever that Slovakia will have one of its cities as the European capital of culture.
