EP fisheries committee supports review of cod
recovery plan

Brussels, 09/09/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 8 September, the European Parliament fisheries committee gave its backing to the broad thrust of the proposal to review the measures to assist the recovery of cod stocks in the North Atlantic (see EUROPE 9634 on the Commission's proposals). The fisheries committee comfortably adopted the report by Niels Busk (ALDE, Denmark) on the cod recovery plan (18 votes to 2, with 3 abstentions), but made a number of changes to the initial proposal....
