Brussels, 04/08/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 29 July 2008, the European Commission adopted a decision exempting Member States until 1 July 2010 from the obligation to register auditors from some thirty or so non-EU countries that audit the accounts of non-EU countries quoted on EU stock exchanges (see Europe 9592). The European Commission has given itself two years to finish its assessment of the equivalence of auditor regulation systems in non-EU countries.
