Referendum remains compulsory in France for all new EU accessions, after that of Croatia

Brussels, 04/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - Failing an agreement on a compromise for ratification of future EU memberships, the law committee at the French National Assembly decided, on Wednesday 2 July, to leave the text of the French Constitution as it is after the 2005 amendments at the request of Jacques Chirac.
