19/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report of József Szájer (EPP-ED, Hungary), on Tuesday 17 June, the Parliament has given its approval in a single reading (co-decision procedure) to the draft regulation on the submission of nominal catch statistics by member states fishing in certain areas other than those of the North Atlantic. The proposal contains a simple codification of the texts without substantially amending it. The EP has approved two similar proposals on the submission of catch and activity statistics by member states fishing in the Northwest Atlantic and nominal catch statistics in the Northeast Atlantic.
