17/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 16 June, the EU Council reviewed Operation Althea, pointing out that the EU-led military presence would remain in Bosnia-Herzegovina for as long as necessary. In its conclusions, it notes that the security situation remains stable and that the EU mission (EUFOR) makes a positive contribution to the country's safe and secure environment. EUFOR remains ready to respond to possible security challenges throughout the country, the Council added. EUFOR has some 2,500 troops on the ground. (A.B./transl.jl)
