Commission calls on Romania quickly to get on top of deficit

Brussels, 13/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - As expected, the European Commission has called on Romania to speed up its structural reform and budgetary consolidation. In policy advice finalised by the College of Commissioners on Wednesday (see EUROPE 9680) and formally adopted on Friday 13, the Commission calls on Romanian authorities to take urgent action to implement a binding medium-term fiscal framework with a view to improving the quality of public finances.
