11/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - The next collection date for COST proposals is 26 September 2008. The COST programme provides a sustained (4-year) framework for cooperation in research at European level with the support of the European Union. Each country selects the proposed activities it wants to become involved in from those proposed in the call for tenders. COST coordinates pre-competitive research and activities of public interest that are funded nationally. It does not fund research activities as such, but the cost of coordinating the research. COST operates in the following key scientific and technical domains: biomedicine and molecular biosciences, chemistry, environmental management, cultures and health, information technology, transport and urban development.
