09/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - The benefits of eating fruit and vegetables outweigh potential risks to human health from exposure to nitrates present in the vegetables, the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) Contaminants Panel (CONTAM) said on Friday 6 June. The panel assessed the benefits and the risks to consumers of nitrates in vegetables.
