European regulation transposing Rotterdam Convention formally adopted

Luxemburg, 06/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - The new regulation transposing the arrangements of the Rotterdam Convention, on international trade in dangerous chemical products (see EUROPE 9582), into Community law has been adopted. In Luxemburg on 5 June, the Environment Council formally adopted, without discussion, the text which establishes the conditions for the import and export of certain chemicals, and also the prior informed consent procedure for certain hazardous chemicals.
