05/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - In the first quarter of the year, growth in the eurozone and EU27 reached 0.8% compared to the previous quarter when it stood at 0.3% and 0.5% respectively. This estimate was published on Tuesday 3 June by Eurostat and is higher than presented last month when the European Statistics Office forecast a rise in GDP of 0.7%. Compared to the same period in 2007, growth in the eurozone was 2.2% and 2.5% in the EU27, after respective rises of 2.1% and 2.5% last year....
