Brussels, 08/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - On the evening of Wednesday 7 May, Italian Franco Frattini, the hitherto European Justice, Security and Freedom Commissioner, submitted his resignation to Commission President José Manuel Barroso in order to take up the post of Foreign Minister in the government of Silvio Berlusconi, the European Commission spokesman said on Thursday 8 May.
