05/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - On 30 April, the European Commission authorised the proposed concentration whereby SevenSenses GmbH (Germany), a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG (“P7S1”, Germany) itself controlled by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (“KKR”, ,USA) and by Permira Holdings Limited (Channel Islands), and 1&1 Internet AG (“1&1”, Germany), a subsidiary of United Internet AG (“United Internet”, Germany), plan to acquire joint control of the newly created company, Maxdome GmbH & Co.KG (“Maxdome JV”, Germany), constituting a joint venture by way of purchase of shares. The business activities of the undertakings concerned are: - SevenSenses: pay-television and video-on-demand; - P7S1: free-to-air television; - Permira: private equity fund; - KKR: private equity company; - 1&1: internet service provider; - United Internet: internet services; - and Maxdome JV: video-on-demand.
