Brussels, 29/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - The results of a recent Eurobarometer survey show that most Europeans consider involvement in a civil case abroad is a worrying prospect that is complex and full of unknown factors. In total, nearly three quarters of Europeans take the view that new measures should therefore be taken to facilitate citizens' access to civil justice in the other member sates, according to the results of a survey published by the European Commission on 24 April. Citizens consider it would be preferable for these new measures to be adopted at EU level through common rules. Over 8 people out of 10 think the EU should assist in the enforcement of civil court rulings by one member state entailing payment in another member state. The results of the survey underline the need for an information campaign targeting Europe's citizens.
