Brussels, 29/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - Bosnia-Herzegovina hopes to join the Barcelona process. A formal request along these lines has been presented to the Slovenian EU Presidency. “Bosnia and Herzegovina geographically belongs to the Mediterranean Basin and shares common cultural heritage with other countries of the Mediterranean”, writes Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj in a letter to the Slovenian foreign minister, Dimitrij Rupel, dated 2 April. He adds: “The priorities of our foreign policy include integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures and active participation in regional cooperation. Thus, by joining the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, Bosnia and Herzegovina shall enhance its regional approach to both Mediterranean and European issues”. (F.B.)
