Commission will not suspend transfers of asylum seekers to Greece

Brussels, 09/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 8 April, the European Commission confirmed that it did not intend to suspend transfers of asylum seekers to Greece, as the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) has requested in a letter addressed to the European Commission and all member states on 3 April. “It is up to the Court of Justice to note whether there are failings (…) It is not up to the Commission to call for transfers of asylum seekers to another member state to be...
