Brussels, 28/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Sunday 30 March, the new EU-US Air Transport Agreement, concluded in Washington on 30 April 2007, will take effect. While a significant increase in transatlantic traffic and just as significant cuts in the cost of flights are expected, this agreement also, says European Transport Commissioner Jacques Barrot, completes the first stage of the creation of an open transatlantic area, a single air transport market between the EU and the United States.
