Creation of Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries

Brussels, 28/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided on a far-reaching reorganisation of its Directorate General for fisheries and maritime affairs to take into account work underway on the EU's new integrated maritime policy. The former DG FISH becomes the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and will now be known as DG MARE (see EUROPE 9629). The main change is: - the creation of three geographic directorates to manage common fisheries policy (CFP)...
