Brussels, 25/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - Given the pressure from Washington, will Europe sacrifice its food safety requirements to put an end to the transatlantic trade dispute over American poultry meat treated with anti-microbial chlorine washes? In a letter addressed to the president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, in mid March, Günter Verheugen, EU Enterprise and Industry Commissioner, calls for the 10-year dispute to be resolved by the 2nd Transatlantic Economic Council...
