20/02/2008 (Agence Europe) -EU High Representative for the CFSP Javier Solana visited Pristina in Kosovo on Tuesday 19 February, where he met the prime minister and president of the new independent state, Hashim Thaçi and Fatmir Sejdui. During a press briefing with Mr Thaçi, the high representative expressed hope that the Kosovan people would convert the joy demonstrated after the unilateral declaration of independence on 17 February into “positive and constructive energy” to build the rule of law together in a harmonious society that respected democratic principles and fundamental rights.
