During his visit, the Commissioner was accompanied by the Slovenian Home Affairs Minister, Dragutin Mate, whose country currently holds the presidency of the Council of the EU. “This process aims at achieving the common and shared goal which is the free movement of citizens. Moreover this dialogue will foster the promotion of people mobility between the EU and the Western Balkans”, said Mr Frattini in a press release. After Serbia, Fyrom is the second country of the Balkans to open dialogue on the abolition of visas with the EU.
