Brussels, 19/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 February, the European Commission and the Committee of the Regions are holding a conference, “Regions for Economic Change - Sharing Excellence”, in Brussels. This is the second annual conference organised by the Commission as part of the “Regions for Economic Change” initiative. Commissioner Danuta Hübner will present the 2008 “RegioStars” awards, which reward good innovative projects in regional development, in the evening of 25 February. More than 500 people from regions all over Europe are expected to take part in the conference, the aim of which is to facilitate exchange of best practice for continuing the implementation of the Lisbon strategy at regional level through the use of cohesion instruments.
