Brussels, 19/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the 2007-2013 cross-border cooperation programme “Northern Ireland, the Border Region of Ireland and Western Scotland”. The programme has a total budget of €256 million. Community investment through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) amounts to €192 million.
The Commission has also approved the Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany) Regional Development Programme for 2007-2013. This programme falls within the Regional Competitiveness and Employment Objective framework. It has a total budget of €545 million. The EU contribution, through the Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is €217 million, or approximately 0.8% of the total EU investment in Germany under the 2007-2013 Cohesion Policy. (G.B.)
