18/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 13 February, the European Commission presented the Council with the proposal aiming to bring in definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of certain manganese dioxides from South Africa, and to levy the provisional duty applied to such imports since 19 September 2007. An in-depth investigation confirmed the provisional conclusions drawn by the Commission last year regarding the reality of dumping. This investigation also led the Commission to bring in certain changes in the way the dumping margins, and therefore the duty levied, are calculated. The Commission wants the Council to adopt its proposal in such a way as to ensure that the regulation can be published in the Official Journal of the EU no later than 14 March 2008. The text of the proposal can be seen at: http: //eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=COM: 2008: 0075: FIN: FR: PDF. (O.L.)
