13/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On 8 February, the European Commission adopted a report on the quality of budget data supplied by member states in 2007. Member states must provide the Commission with their estimated and effective data on the levels of their deficit and debt twice per year, before the 1 April and before 1 October. The report indicates that compliance with notification deadlines was “generally good” and, for the second of the two notifications in 2007, all member states supplied their data by 30 September, with the exception of Luxembourg, which provided them on 1 October. With regard to the April notification, all member states submitted their figures for 1 April. (L.C.)
