13/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 12 February, the EU Council of Ministers adopted without debate a decision updating the protocol to the fisheries agreement between the EU and the Seychelles (details in EUROPE 9536). Some 40 tuna seiners (22 Spanish, 17 French and 1 Italian) will be authorised, along with 12 surface longliners (5 French, 5 Spanish and 2 Portuguese). The EU-Seychelles fisheries agreement expires on 17 January 2011. (L.C.)
